Property & Finance Committee

The Property and Finance Committee is a standing committee that is responsible to the Board of Administration for reviewing and recommending action on all matters concerning property and financial actions of the local church and the conference at large. The property and finance committee may also fulfill special projects as assigned by the Board of Administration. As with all Free Methodist Church leadership, the board is comprised of an equal number of ministerial and lay (non-ordained) leaders.

Nominees for Property & Finance Committee

Each year, Free Methodist Churches elect new board members to replace outgoing leaders. The following are nominees for the Board of Administration and will be voted on between April 30 and May 10. Newly elected members will be added to the above list after voting.

Dan Davidson

Dan pastors Rose City in Pasadena and is the co-founder of Rose City Coffee, a training program for homeless and youth. He along with a team also opened Rosebud, which seeks to help youth flourish while providing a space for community events.

Last year, Dan co-launched a monthly networking group for social entrepreneurs that inspires over 300 people to bring catalytic change to their local economies. He chairs the Faith Community Committee under the Pasadena Partnership to End Homelessness and serves on the oversight board.

Dan enjoys collaborating with the city, local faith communities, and non-profits who share the goal of ending homelessness and improving the lives of local neighbors.

Abel Lopez

Abel works as an Associate Pastor at Sylmar FM Church under the leadership of Senior Pastor Joe Castillo. At SFMC, Abel serves as CFO where he manages the church finances and advises strategies to grow stewardships. He has led the local Property & Finance Committee and oversees the financial reports for LBOA. He also manages the property rentals and assists the senior pastor in achieving mission objectives in the church ministries.

Abel is a Certified Computer/Network Engineer.

Anabel Mendoza

Anabel has a family owned business that she administrates as well as a college education in business administration.

She enjoys fully serving the Lord any way possible including to a family ministry of outreach in San Diego and south of the border.

Gerardo Ortiz

Gerardo has been part of the FMC since November 1982. He graduated from the Biblical Institute in Hermosillo, Sonora. Mexico and has served in the Mexican Conference for 16 years before coming to the FMCSC Conference in 2002. While in Mexico, he was part of the MAC & MEG and serve as Conference Secretary for 12 years.

In the FMCSC he has had the opportunity to serve on the Nominating Committee, MAC, MEG Board, and BOA. He is married to Maria J. Vazquez for almost 31 years and has 3 children, Esther, Josué and Isaías and 2 grandchildren Caleb and Abigail.

Tom Shryock

Tom has been a Christ-follower since 16 after answering multiple knocks on the door by Jesus. He was a leader in the Presbyterian Church before associating with the FMC and Wesleyan theology and decided to trade Predestination for Prevenient Grace.

He has been a member of Foothill Community Church for over 30 years, serving multiple terms on the BOA, Finance Committee, Trustee, and Treasurer.

He recently retired after 47 years as both a CPA and CFO, and has been an auditor, tax preparer, small business advisor and executive in financial institutions working in management, investments, and cash management.
